LinkedIn automation limits: the daily and weekly caps our engine enforces

LinkedIn doesn't publish its limits. These are the caps Bavlio's outreach engine enforces on each connected LinkedIn account.

Bar chart: at most 20 connection requests a day on a free LinkedIn account, 30 on Premium and 40 on Sales Navigator, with a line at 20 for 100 a week sent Monday to Friday.

Key takeaways

  • A free LinkedIn account sends at most 20 connection requests a day, Premium 30 and Sales Navigator 40, and no account sends more than 100 per rolling 7 days by default.
  • At the default weekly cap, an account that sends Monday to Friday gets 20 connection requests a day, whatever its type.
  • An account sends at most 100 messages a day. A newly connected account starts lower and ramps up over 14 days.
  • A campaign sends in 2 to 5 short sessions a day inside its sending window, not all at once.

Connection requests

The daily allowance is the lower of the daily cap and the weekly cap divided by the days the account's campaigns send. At 100 a week, an account that sends Monday to Friday gets 20 a day. One that sends all 7 days gets 14.

Connection requests a day, by LinkedIn account typeThe bars are the daily caps. The lines are the default weekly cap of 100 spread over the days an account sends. The engine sends the lower of the two.

You can set a lower daily or weekly cap on any account, and each campaign can carry its own lower daily limit.

Messages, warm‑up, pacing and lookups

Messages. They go to people already connected to the account: after they accept a connection request, or to existing connections.

Warm-up. A newly connected account ramps up in a straight line from its starting limits to its full limits. You can set the warm-up from 0 to 30 days.

Pacing. A campaign doesn't send its day's allowance at once. Its sessions are 45 to 120 minutes apart, inside its sending window.

Profile lookups. The engine looks each person up right before their invitation. Bulk lookups, such as finding new leads for a campaign, run one at a time, 3 to 8 seconds apart.

Replies and opt-outs

  • A reply takes the person out of the sequence. No further steps send.
  • A reply that asks to stop puts the person on the suppression list. Nobody on it gets another message on any channel.

What LinkedIn says

LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits using "bots or other unauthorized automated methods to access the Services, add or download contacts, send or redirect messages". Any tool that sends from a member account carries a risk of restriction, ours included. The caps above are how we keep each account's volume low.

For what an agent can do under these caps, see LinkedIn API for AI agents and LinkedIn MCP server.

FAQ

How many LinkedIn connection requests can I send per day?

LinkedIn doesn't publish a number. Our engine sends at most 20 a day from a free account, 30 from Premium and 40 from Sales Navigator, and never more than 100 per rolling 7 days by default.

How many LinkedIn messages can I send per day?

Our engine sends at most 100 messages a day per account by default. A newly connected account starts at 20 a day and ramps up over 14 days.

Do these caps apply through the API and the MCP server?

Yes. Connection requests and first messages go out only as campaign steps, and every campaign runs under these caps, whether an agent launched it over REST, over MCP or a person launched it in the dashboard.

Is automating LinkedIn allowed?

LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits bots and other unauthorized automated methods that add contacts or send messages, so any tool that sends from a member account carries a risk of restriction. The caps are how we keep each account's volume low.
